...is that feeling you get when things are completely out of your control. I'm a therapist and sometimes I get a dose of reality. I just can't help some people. Today was one of those days. So much of therapeutic success is dependent on what the kid is willing to do it's scary. This kid I was working with had almost no concern for himself and less for others....really sad situation.
I guess it's a chicken and egg argument...Do you have to care for yourself before you can care for others or does your care for others make you care more for yourself? I believe that when we put others first our problems shrink and therefore they have less of a negative impact on our lives. If we get caught up in our own pity party it's all over.

Buddy, don't feel bad, I feel the same way. I have struggled with feelings of guilt and helplessness when all my efforts failed to achieve a positive outcome. All you can do is be the best you can be in your chosen career and trust in God to do the rest.
